The Macau Assignment, Part III

Newsweek sent Steve to Macau in late August to be the first journalist to tour the $1.2 billion Wynn Macau, which opens Sept. 6. Here's his personal photo gallery from his Hong Kong stay at the home of his friend, Steven Jiang, as well as other scenes.

[See the page 1 and 2 for other pictures, including of exclusive first-looks at the Wynn Macau]

[See Steve's pieces for Newsweek and Nevada Today or hear his 7-min clip on KNPR]

Here's Steve trying to podcast from a restaurant in the
SoHo section of Hong Kong. It was too noisy, though, so
he ended up recording at a Starbucks. See that picture here.

KFC anyone?:
A Hong Kong streetscape.

Wrong in any language:
The world over, they misspell Friess. Sigh.

Down under:
The subway where, unlike in the West, your cell phone works.

Steven's living room.   Steven's bedroom.   Steven's bathroom.

The view.

Steven's kitchen.

Steven's street.

Up, up and away: Another perspective on how tall and thin these buildings in Hong KOng are. This is from Steven's 25th floor window.

Highs and lows: The Pacific Coffee Company is a beautiful cafe. The view from its side windows aren't.

Mouse rules!: The Hong Kong Disneyland is now open. I didn't go.
